Brand building through storytelling

Mother/daughter gallery

There’s a story in every mother/daughter bond. My memoir tells the story of my mother and me, but what about all the untold stories? To celebrate the launch of My Mother’s Daughter, I put out a call for stories and created an online gallery where women far and wide could reminisce about their mothers—or their daughters. Writer friends got me started with eloquently crafted prose, but as word got around I heard from grieving strangers who had only just buried their mothers. A proud mom told me how it feels to be running a business with her daughter; a lonely 13-year-old confided that she tried to kill herself after losing her mother. I’m no longer building a gallery, but the stories I collected are like voices in a choir. Have a read and see for yourself.
